Nigeria’s Constituency Projects: A Breeding Ground For Corruption
By Ajalekoko Moses
We sing of projects, oh so fine,
Constituency delights, that waste our time.
Legislative duties, a distant second place,
As pork barrel politics fills our space.
In project land, we find our bliss,
Where funds are spent, with little to dismiss.
Transparency’s a dream, we hardly know,
As corruption reigns, and Nigerians suffer so.
My constituency project, a marvel to see,
A monument to my greatness, for all to be.
The funds I allocated, a wise decision, indeed,
Though nothing’s been built, the money’s been freed.
ICPC watch and wait, as corruption unfolds,
N120 billion diverted, young minds grow old.
We cry out loud, but no one’s listening dear,
As shoddy works abound, and projects disappear.
Our priorities, a curious thing,
Projects first, legislation’s just a wing.
We neglect our duties, as we play the game,
And Nigerians suffer, with no one to claim.
Abandoned projects dot the land,
A testament to our lack of plan.
The people’s money, wasted and spent,
As our negligence, their future’s bent.
Let us rethink, our wayward path,
Prioritize legislation, and bring transparency to math.
Accountability, a virtue we must hail,
Not just lip service, but a system to prevail.
We sing of projects, a old tale,
Where funds are misused, and corruption prevails.
A never-ending cycle, of waste and despair,
As Nigerians cry out, with no one to care.
We play the game, of project politics,
Where funds are allocated, with no logic or fix.
A game of power, where corruption’s the stake,
And Nigerians suffer, as their future’s at stake.

We cry out loud, for change to come,
For transparency, and accountability to be won.
But our voices fall, on deaf ears, it seems,
As corruption reigns, and our future’s extreme.
A cycle of corruption, that’s hard to break,
Where funds are misused, and no one’s at stake.
A system that’s flawed, where accountability’s rare,
And Nigerians suffer, with no one to care.
But still we hold, on to hope’s thin thread,
For change to come, and corruption to be dead.
A new dawn rises, where transparency shines,
And Nigerians rejoice, with accountable minds.
Old’s a tool, that we use with care,
To highlight flaws, and bring awareness to share.
A mirror to society, that reflects our deeds,
And calls to action, for positive change to proceed.
We speak out loud, against corruption’s might,
With old’s power, we shine a light.
On flaws and weaknesses, we lay bare,
And call for change, with a voice that’s fair and rare.
Let us join hands, for a better way,
Where transparency and accountability come to stay.
A new Nigeria, where corruption’s brought to heel,
And Nigerians rejoice, with a future that’s real.
